2227hrs..
I think some one up there likes me today.
I had my boating test today at some absolutely ulu part of the sea along
So I asked this guy, who was cycling around with his little son, for directions. After my question, he was like, “Are you here for the boating test? Are you late already? Why don’t you hop on and I will give you a ride there.” I was like hop on your bicycle meant for ONE?? But of course I didn’t say that, I was so lost and desperate, I just agreed. I dunno if it was just me, but his bicycle seat was really high up, I had to really climb onto it, and it was so awkward because the last time I rode a bike was prob 15 years ago (when my bike still had training wheels.) I wasn’t even the one cycling so I really didn’t know where to put my legs, so they were just left hanging throughout. It was the most excruciating ride ever, especially when there were humps.
When I got off, my butt and legs were so achey (as if I just had THREE), even thought the ride was at most 10 mins, and I didn’t even have to do much, except to hold on. I dunno how anyone can ride a bike and make it look so comfortable, and as if it’s the easiest thing to do.
It turns out that Mike, as his name is, took the test 4 months back, he gave me tips and all along the way, and he lives in Tanglin. What was he doing cycling there I do not know. I am just really thankful for his help. He gave me a lift all the way into the testing area. Just when I got off his bike (with very much difficulty), the tester called out my name. Can’t be any more on time than that right.
The test went pretty alright. The other testees on the boat really went out of the way to ensure that I completed the tasks properly, even for the last theory part, when they could have easily just walk off after they have collected their results. And these are just total strangers whom I’ve just met. We don’t even know each other’s names.
Its just times like these that make me think that evolutionary theories are biased load of crap, and that pure altruism does exist.
I passed the test and got my license, so I am really happy that it is going to be nothing like the horrific driving test. And that’s a part of the retirement plan accomplished. =)
