1524hrs..
last night i spent 6 whole hours trying to build this gingerbread house which i got from Ikea. The instructions were simple, " See how easy it is!" in all possible languages you can think of.
NEVER trust ikea and their instructions. (gwen and laura, you know what to be caution of when you go to Sweden) It was hardly easy! by the time i fitted three of the pieces together, the rest of the pieces became soft and started crumbling. Then i had to patch the broken pieces back together, making the house look sad and dilapidated.
So i thought what the heck, i shall toast it and hope it comes out hard again. BUT no, after heating, it became like cake!!!! I swear i almost screamed at the toaster, then i remembered that all cookies comes out soft when its warm.
So after it the pieces cooled and harden(ONLY FOR A WHILE, read below), i started my fourth attempt to build the house. And finally it stood!(BUT ONLY FOR A WHILE!) And i went to bed assured that i will have a proper looking house to bring to liv's today.
And the ultimate bad news.I was greeted by a hurricane wreaked house today when i woke up. it got so soft like cake, it just crumbled beyond crumbs. It was so sad. How did people even make gingerbread houses in cold weather. Just imagine the disappointment if it was a kid who built this, and woke up all bright and early on christmas morning to decorate it only to be shocked by this mess.
Im sorry friends, no gingerbread house again this year, lets just make do with the debris. =(
