I died 30 times in the last 15 minutes.

I am playing Super Mario and Bomber Man again. I must say that my skills have improved over the last 10 years.
At least now I can reach level 3 of Mario before dying. When I was 12, I could never finish level 2. haha ya, at 21 I am still dying at level 3. I will complete this game. Somehow.
Some old school fun. I have never owned one till now though. Best thing ever.
Last night, after dying like a gazillion times, I finally figured out this level in bomber man, and was thisssss close, and my game boy ran out of batt. Awesomeee. haha but its still so fun!
Anyway, I tried making Checkerbox Cookies and they turned out all messy. Blame the weather. haha I think. No not really, I made it messy. Mine look more like a zebra when its bitten in half.
No prizes for guessing which is mine.

My two pairs of new shoes are arriving over the weekend! yay yay yay!

I think I might be baking too much for my own good. But I am so bored.
Anyway, I tried making the Red Velvet Cake, which is supposedly THE cake of Southern America. The inside is red (due to chemical reaction between Cocoa and vinegar), and it's moist, and it's cream cheese icing on the outside.
When I was making this batter, I thought I got tricked by the recipe. (some online recipes are very unreliable.) It was seriously the most bizarre coloured cake batter ever. haha but after baking, it turned out fine.
So tt cake was for grandma for mother's day. She liked it, even though my cake deco skills are atrocious.
And the other stuff were baked rice for dinner, and Custard Cookies for friends.
I caught Wolverine the other day. I thought it was quite good. But I found out that the story in the movie is not the true story of Wolverine. Haha I mean this is all very ironic, Wolverine is not real to begin with, but I went to read about the X-man mutants on Marvel.com and Wolverine's real history was never like what was depicted in the movie. So I guess that says that the producers of the movie were quite creative to dream up the whole thing.
Ooh look, special shape. They are all moving down towards my stomach now. yum yum.

School's over! I can't wait to get to baking.
Well, I just won't think about what's going to happen after this semester.

PLAY AND MAKE GOOD CHEER, FOR CHRISTMAS COMES BUT ONCE A YEAR.
And I am glad. Its strange how I get so excited before Christmas and when its here, its such a disappointment. like I spent today doing nothing. There's nothing to watch on TV either! stupid Ch 5.
I think I was excited probably because of all the baking and post Christmas sales.
I like the elephant cookie cutters I bought recently. And I like putting lots of bling on them.
I hope you guys didn't find the gingerbread cookies too hard to swallow.
Anyway, wanna see my teeth?? I went to the dentist yesterday to get an x-ray done.
He says one of my wisdom tooth (on the left of this pic) is unusually big, thus giving me those gum problems. So I got to take it out. The x-ray machine was quite funny tho. It had its own female robotic voice that says, " We are starting the x-ray now, please close your eyes.", then after some robotic sounds for 2 minutes, "Ok, we are done scanning, you can open your eyes." Of course in a totally robotic voice. like those Neoprint machines.
Oh oh, I just read that if you act out your dreams while sleeping, like kicking, punching, crying out, it could be an early warning sign of brain disease like dementia or Parkinson's.
The neurologists found out that people with brain disease are able to move their muscles while dreaming, but in normal people, during REM sleep (rapid eye movement, a period of sleep in your sleep cycle), our muscles are suppose totally relaxed and they do not move.
Anyway, its a rather lengthy article with lots of other details, but its interesting, you can read it here if you want to. The bottom line of it is that sleep disorders, like those I've mentioned are warning signs of developing brain degeneration diseases later on in life. =(

Its tt time of the year again, even though its still slightly early, I made Gingerbread Men yesterday. This year I found a new Gingerbread Recipe, so it doesn't taste as bad as those I made last year. But the only cookie cutters I have are the Ampelmann ones which Kit got me from Deutschland.
They are German traffic light men. One is Stand, another is Walk.
As you can see i ran out of ideas to decorate traffic light men, so i ended up drawing nonsensical shapes on them. Traffic light men don't even wear clothes to begin with.
Anyway, I miss Pho so much. Its just rice noodles soup with beef. But it is so light and yummy.I wish Singapore has more Vietnamese food. Thai food is just spicy and over-rated.
Saigon was rather fun. It was mostly sight-seeing, eating and walking alot. I am quite amazed that we are still alive, considering the crazy no-rules traffic. People drive where ever they want, in different directions. There are no Ampelmann in Vietnam, so jaywalking is probably considered legal.
The rules of crossing the roads there are, don't dash, don't step back, and keep walking.
It was fun. Not everyday you have motorbikes zooming pass you at a distance of 5cm (I am not exaggerating, I always got very worried they will run over my toes) and hearing your cab driver honk 20 times in a minute (I am not exaggerating this either). Noise and air pollution is pretty bad there.
I'll prob go back there again for the Pho, Kebabs, Super thick Vietnamese Coffee and Wagyu. Yum yum yum.

According to the Beijing Olympic Games organizing committee..

- Olympic ticket ≠ visa, because "according to the principle of international law, any sovereignty state has the right of making a decision whether it allow aliens enter or exit its frontier, and has the right of issuing the visa, declining visa application, or declaring the canceling of the issued visa according to its own law."
- No display of political or religious banners at events.
- Do not burn or damage the Chinese flag or any other national emblems.
- Do not bring in any "dangerous bacteria".
- No terrorists, please, or anyone with "mental diseases."
- Tibet? Totally off-limits.

Sludge Cake
1151hrs..
I made these for my colleagues this week. Oreo Cheesecake, and Meringue Kisses. Both super easy recipes.
And I absolutely hate to fall.
1220hrs..
Oreo cheesecake last week,Strawberry cake today, for dad's birthday.
First proper cake ever made. Its just a normal kind of cake. Never knew icing a cake can be so troublesome. and the weather is not helping. With Singapore weather i should be glad that my cake doesnt melt the moment its out of the fridge.
IT IS TOO HOT!
The internship has been taking up most of my time. I have yet to go shopping, Mac with Liv and Co, bake some more, and just spending a whole day reading in bed!! Im not going to whine about this job anymore. Its only 3 days into it and im pretty darn sure this is not my calling.
I cant believe that Colbie Calliat (whatever her name is) song is in my head. The one about crinkle my toes and nose song. What's even more annoying is that my mind is alternating between this toes and noses song, and avril's "I want to keep you in my closet" song. My work place plays the radio, aka songs with crazy ridiculous lyrics.

I am like going on some baking spree.
So for today, its this..And an utterly unsuccessful attempt at Molasses Cookies, which I made into cakes instead, and taste horrible.
I thought I could put to good use the new super cute cookie cutter Kit got me from Germany. Its shaped like the red and green traffic light men, thats why its called Ampelmann. And thats a picture of the real traffic lights in Germany.
And all these other stuff.
Besides, how can you not smile when you see this. And and and, I can't stand Kit's new humongous TV and furniture. Its ridiculous, it couldn't even fit into my camera frame!
